Part 1: Definitions and Explanations
a. Variable Set #1: Life Expectancy- the average number of years a newborn child is suspected to live is current mortality patterns would stay the dame throughout there lifetime.
Human Development Index- an index used to rank countries by level of "human development". It contains three dimensions: health level, education level and living standard.
Variable Set #2: Children Per Women- total fertility rate. The number of children that would be born to each woman with prevailing age-specific fertility rates. Income Per Person- gross domestic product per
person adjusted for differences in purchasing power.
b. A developed country normally has a higher life expectancy, because they have the recourses to cure diseases, infecting and killing LDC's. A more developed country will also have a higher HDI because they will have a better standard of living with a high health and education level. As a country becomes more developed they women start having less children due to costs and job opportunities. In a MDC the income made by people is greater helping them provide for their family.
Part 2: Chart Analysis
a. Variable Set #1: Throughout the years 1980-2010 the countries mainly stay in a diagonal line with the America's, Europe and Central Asia in the top more developed countries, East Asia, Pacific, Middle East and North Africa in the middle with a couple up at the top with the America's, South Asia and Sub-Saharan are the bottom less developed countries. Some countries like Rwanda make a big result in life expectancy and a result of war, famine, or disease. Variable Set #2: Throughout the years 1800-2000 the countries start in a tight clump which eventually scatters and ends in a diagonal line. The countries that break away from the clump first is Europe and Central Asia and they end up in the MDCs along with the America's and a couple of East Asia and Pacific countries. Middle East, North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa spread out really wide before coming together again at the end.
b. Europe and Central Asia are the first countries to start to advance because they were the start of many revolutions. The "geographic luck" of some countries puts them in the position of not being able to develop in any kind because they are focusing on surviving over progressing life. Many countries in Sub-Saharan Africa the girls have little to no schooling so instead of having jobs they take care of their many children.

Crossing The Line GIS Activity
View Larger Map Analysis 1. My first boundary is the separation of Quebec from Canada. Quebec is east of Canada but west of Newfoundland and Labrador. It also borders USA's Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Quebec also has a small island in the Gulf of Saint Laurence. My second boundary Arabian Gulf Union is the merge of the states Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and United Arab Emirates. They are located in the Middle East, the Arabian Peninsula minus Yemen. The Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Arabian Sea, Gulf of Oman, and Persian Gulf border the Arabian Gulf Union. 2. The reason Quebec would split from Canada is mainly the cultural differences. Quebec mainly speaks French whereas the rest of Canada speaks English. Another reason in religion Quebec is mainly Catholic compared to the rest of Canada which is mainly Protestant. As for government separatist movements have always had a strong following in Canada's second most populous province, Parti Quebecois within Quebec. The reason the Arabian Gulf Union States would merge is not only cultural similarities but tension with other states. These states are mainly follow the religion of Islam mainly Sunni, the reason that Yemen is not apart of the Arabian Gulf union is because it has mainly followers of Shiite and its a failing state. Bahrain is mainly Shiite but because of its territorial disputes with Iran allows less tension with Saudi Arabia. That is another reason why these states are close is the significant threat from Iran. The majority language of the states is Arabic which helps them stand a common ground. 3. The boundaries that decided where to split Quebec from Canada are cultural boundaries. The cultural feature mainly based on was language, french and english. Religion was also used separating mainly Catholic from mainly Protestant. The boundaries that merged the Arabian Gulf Union were cultural boundaries. The cultural feature was mainly religion and a common threat from Iran, but also language. 4. By separating Quebec from Canada you and separating Canada's main cultural difference of language. The economy of Quebec is more alike to Europe than to the rest of Canada, the economic difference between the two will cause less tension. By merging the Arabian Gulf Union you are combining a common threat from Iran and the cultural similarities of language and religion to form a stronger state both economically and culturally.

Map Analysis
This choropleth map represents the percent of people that are Hispanic or Latino in the United States. The highest percentile of Hispanic or Latino people is mainly located in the Southwest Region, left side of the West South Central Division, bottom of Mountain Division and bottom of the Pacific Division. New Mexico and the bottom of Florida is completely in the range of 12.3% to 99.7%. The lower percentile of Hispanic or Latino people are mainly located in The Appalachian Region, the top of the West North Central, top of the Mountain and top of the New England. The state of Maine is completely in the 0.0% range.
The Southwest has a higher percent of Hispanic or Latino then the East because the Southwest is right on the border of Central America. All the immigrants coming from Central America end up crossing that border and finding a home near by. If they just traveled a long way to get to America why would they want to travel more to get to Maine or the top of the Great Lake states. Florida is the closest state to the islands in the Caribbean so all the immigrants coming from the Caribbean Islands will end up in Florida.
This impacts the U.S. socially, because all the Hispanic people coming in from their spanish speaking background will build up over time and more people will start to speak spanish to communicate with each other. All the immigrants coming in will boost the population in the southwest region so those states will start to get more electoral votes. The culture will change according to the amount of Hispanic or Latino in an area. They will bring all their traditions to the area. All the immigrants might not understand or know what is happening with our government so they may not vote for the first few years. Many impacts are happening just according to the percentage of Hispanic or Latino in a Region.
